Territorial Inequality in Education
Cardiff University School of Social Sciences is seeking to recruit a Research Assistant. In this role you will contribute to research on territorial inequality in education. This is a project funded by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation, carrying out supporting work that helps lead to the publishing of high-quality research. To pursue excellence in research and to inspire others to do the same.
The successful applicant will be part of the team working on the project Territorial Inequality in Education project, funded by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation. The project investigates whether decentralization generates territorial inequality in education to shed light on the potential trade-offs and benefits of decentralization and its implications for territorial equity and democratic stability. It is a collaborative project with the Freie Universität Berlin and the University of Kent.
This post is part-time, 32.4 hours per week (90%), is fixed term from 1st March 2025 to 14th February 2026. (However, there is some flexibility in the distribution of working hours. Candidates who wish to work fewer hours per week (min 26.25 hours) for a longer period of time or 35 hours for a shorter period of time will also be considered)
Salary: £33,232 - £35,880 per annum (Grade 5), with 3 annual increments up to £35,880 per annum (final salary at top of grade). New appointments are usually made at the starting point of the salary scale.
