An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher in Leukaemia Biology and Epigenomics, in the Professor Thomas Milne group. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a project that combines CRISPR/Cas9 screening in a novel leukaemia model with epigenomics analysis to identify new therapeutic targets.
You will be responsible for managing and planning your own academic research, generating high quality data and writing up findings for publication. Working both independently and as part of a team, it is essential that you are able to communicate effectively with and help supervise DPhil students and other junior lab members.
You will hold a PhD, or be close to completion with thesis submitted at time of application, in molecular biology, genetics or a related discipline, together with relevant experience. You will have experience in cell culture, working with viruses and with growing primary cells. Experience with epigenetics and a demonstrable understanding of transcriptional mechanisms, as well as an ability to perform epigenomics techniques such as ChIP-seq, TT-seq and 3C approaches, are desirable.
The post is fixed-term until 31 January 2027, funded by Blood Cancer UK.
Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. You will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your online application.
The closing date for this position is 12:00 noon on 19 February 2025. Interviews will be held in March 2025.
