The School of Informatics welcomes applications for a fixed term Deputy HR Admin Manager.

The Opportunity:

The Deputy HR Admin Manager role is critical for the School in co-ordinating the day to day operational activities of the School HR team and function. They will lead, develop and continuously improve the School’s HR administration operations to ensure staff are well informed and supported, and the School’s HR administration operational processes align with University policies and procedures.

The post holder will also provide support to the HR Administration Manager in the design and implementation of relevant frameworks, procedures and guidance to ensure the School is an outstanding employer and empowers people to thrive in their roles.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week) and fixed term for 1 year.

We are open to considering flexible working patterns and requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

The salary for this post is UE06 £33,882 to £39,105 per annum.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Educated to HNC/HND or equivalent level qualifications plus relevant work experience, or Broad experience, acquired through a combination of job related training and considerable on-the-job experience, demonstrating development through involvement in progressively more demanding relevant work/roles.
  • Experience in providing HR administration services.
  • A customer based-focussed approach to the delivery of services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to advise and, if necessary, persuade staff of all levels of appropriate course of action.
  • Evidence of ability to interpret policies and regulations, to understand, identify gaps and implement process improvements. 
  • Evidence of excellent organisational abilities, combined with attention to detail; time management skills and an ability to manage competing priorities. 
  • Evidence of good written and oral communication skills, and good IT skills.
  • Experience of supervising staff or operational activities of the team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of data protection (GDPR) and FOI legislation.
