Job description:
We are recruiting a dedicated Postdoctoral Research Associate for the EPSRC funded project (EP/W027267/1) in collaboration with Imperial College London and the University of Aberdeen. The aim of this innovative project is to develop a new generation of hybrid cold-formed steel (CFS) structural systems offering cost-effective, sustainable and robust solutions for offsite manufacturing of low- to high-rise buildings. The work involves both analytical and experimental studies, which will be conducted in partnership with key UK CFS industries. We will support you to raise your profile as a top-tier analyst and launch a promising career, whether in academia or in industry.
You. We are looking for a well-organised and creative scientist/engineer to join us on this adventure. The ideal candidate will have a PhD (or be about to submit your thesis) or have equivalent experience in science and engineering. A proven track record of publications in high-quality peer reviewed journals and previous experience in experimental work and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of steel structures are essential. A strong quantitative background in CFS is preferred, but not essential. You will have excellent data analysis, scientific programming, and communication skills and be able to plan and organise your time effectively. You will be based in Sheffield and will travel to visit academic and industrial collaborators in the UK. You will also be supported and encouraged to present project outputs at national and international conferences.
