This is a fixed term appointment for 12 months
Working pattern primarily:
Monday to Friday 06.30 – 14.30 with one hour lunch break (35 hours per week, 1FTE)
The post holder will be an integral member of the Facilities Management Team within a multifaceted Estates Division.
The post holder will be responsible for the grounds maintenance work in relation to landscaping, and paths across the campus.
Working as an integral part of the Facilities Management team, the Assistant Grounds Operative (Campus) will undertake both planned and reactive maintenance tasks relating to the grounds and pathways, gardens, plants and ponds ensuring the healthy development of the landscaped ensuring they are completed to the appropriate standards.
Main duties and responsibilities for this role include plant watering, path clearance, clearing leaves, litter picking, jet washing paths and using hand tools and powered machinery to ensure all sites and external areas are maintained to a high standard. You will need to deliver additional services during the winter, such as gritting, clearing snow and installing Christmas trees.

Additionally, you will report to management with relevant information regarding site hazards, operate a range of vehicles, machinery and equipment in accordance with health and safety procedures, and undertake additional training as and when required.
