Terapia is a registered charity based in North London.  We are a leading Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Counselling training organisation, validated by Middlesex University and accredited by the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy (UKCP). We are also a Member Organisation of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Child Psychotherapy Council (CPC).

Terapia is also a clinical services provider, offering high quality, low-cost counselling, psychotherapy and bespoke mental health services to children, young people, parents/carers, families, and professionals in North London, Hertfordshire and beyond. Our work is at the heart of the community, helping young people presenting complex mental, emotional and behavioural issues. All therapeutic services offered by Terapia are part of our educational course delivery and are provided by our trainees. 

About the Role: 

The Training Administrator will support the delivery of our courses in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Counselling:   

Terapia’s MA programme provides training in therapeutic work with children, young people, parents and families from an integrative perspective.  This includes major approaches to child psychotherapy and counselling and covers all topics related to children’s mental health.  

In addition to the MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Counselling, Terapia offers the following courses:

  • Foundation Course in Adult Counselling Skills
  • MA Conversion course
  • Diploma in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapy and Counselling Supervision 

This position will report to the Director of Training and also work closely with the Academic Coordinator. 

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Monitoring course team mailbox and replying to student and tutor queries. 
  • Compiling and maintaining student registers, monitoring course attendance and following up absences. 
  • Responsibility for students’ coursework. Logging all coursework submission and results. Sending feedback to students and liaising with students and academic staff/markers. 
  • Receiving and distributing students termly journals. 
  • Creating student module portfolios. 
  • Collating teaching evaluation forms. 
  • Updating student records on the database. 
  • Updating student portal. 
  • Arranging DBS applications. 
  • Processing student Totum applications. 
  • Archiving student files. 
  • Assisting Director of Training with UKCP registrations (annual renewals and five-yearly reaccreditations). 
  • Any other administrative responsibilities as directed by the Course Director and Academic Coordinator. 

The post will involve some in-person contact with our students. 

Experience and skills 

  • Good administrative skills, ideally experience of work in an academic setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form and manage relationships with a broad range of individuals.
  • Excellent computer and database skills.
  • Team player with a good sense of humour.
  • Ability to deal flexibly and sensitively with students’ academic enquiries and issues, including liaison with other members of pastoral support and tutors
