About the role
This exciting role will provide the successful candidate with unique experience working across disciplines and towards a genuinely global view of this fascinating area of sensory biology. The focus of the project is elucidating sensory perception and signal transduction in cryptochrome-dependent animal magnetoreception.
The position will be held in Leicester in the laboratories of Profs Rosato (line manager) and Kyriacou, and will benefit from the collaboration with Dr Alex Jones (NPL), and Dr Daniel Kattnig (Exeter). Additionally, there will be extensive opportunities for networking and interactions with all partners.
About you
We are seeking a talented and motivated computational biophysicist/ chemist to conduct molecular dynamic and spin dynamic simulations as part of a Wellcome Trust-funded project. The postholder will use in silico approaches to guide and interpret in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo assays based on fly and mouse models.
The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively and independently as part of a multidisciplinary research team located across multiple sites (Leicester, Manchester, Oxford, National Physical Laboratory, Exeter) to achieve defined milestones and produce high quality research as part of the wider program.
