The Role
The School of Chemical and BioPharmaceutical Sciences, Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Analytical Chemistry/Forensic Analysis on a permanent, wholetime basis. Candidates will have expertise in analytical chemistry and forensic analysis linked to the UN SDGs and aligned to TU Dublin’s Strategic Intent 2030. These areas of expertise will include but are not limited to analytical chemistry and forensic analysis. Candidates should have a proven track record of research and scholarly activities, specifically in analytical chemistry and forensic analysis which will support the research and scholarly activities of the school. The person appointed will contribute strongly to teaching and assessing, particularly across the school’s undergraduate programmes. In addition to teaching and research, the role will involve curriculum development, particularly the expansion and integration analytical chemistry and forensic analysis into our programmes, programme management and administration, and pastoral care of students.
The School of Chemical and BioPharmaceutical Sciences is the largest School in the Faculty of Sciences and Health within over 2,000 registered students and 90 academic, technical and support staff. From 1st September 2022 the School of Chemical and BioPharmaceutical Sciences has operated cross campus with significant activity on the Tallaght and Grangegorman campuses. It provides degree, postgraduate and short training programmes in all areas of chemical and biopharmaceutical sciences. The school delivers a number of degree programmes at ordinary, honours and master’s degree level, including international programmes. These programmes make full use of the extensive laboratory facilities including the National Pharmaceutical Education Centre as well as providing a broad background to theory and specific case studies.
The school has particular expertise in many aspects of Forensic Science, Environmental Science, Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical, Bio and Pharmaceutical Analysis and BioPharmaceutical Sciences and Manufacturing Technologies. Undergraduate teaching laboratories in these subject areas are complemented by various initiatives including on-line learning, external placements and community-based activities. The school has a long tradition of producing work ready graduates who are valued by industry.
