We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Administrator to support all aspects of Health, Safety, and Facilities within the School of Cultures, Languages, and Area Studies during a maternity leave period. Your Role:

As a Senior Administrator, you will enjoy a varied and dynamic role, liaising with a wide range of people across the university and with external visitors. You will be the go-to person for Health & Safety matters, providing expert advice and guidance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and conducting risk assessments and H&S inductions.
  • Ensuring all staff are up-to-date with mandatory compliance training, such as Fire Safety.
  • Organising and coordinating facilities projects, including office moves and renovations.
  • Managing the school’s asset inventory.
  • Collaborating closely with other Senior Administrators to ensure the smooth operation of the School Office.
  • Providing line management to the Operations, Facilities, and Health and Safety Administrator.

What We’re Looking For:

We need a flexible, supportive team player who can juggle tight deadlines and prioritize conflicting tasks. You should have experience in establishing new administrative systems and procedures, alongside managing resources. Key skills include:

  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • An awareness of Health & Safety principles is advantageous, but not essential, as full training will be provided.

The post is offered on a fixed term contract ending 30th January 2026. Hours of work are 29 hours per week.
