An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Workshop Manufacturing team within Manchester Metropolitan University as an experienced and dedicated Sewing Machine Mechanic in Manchester Fashion Institute. About the role:
As a Technical Officer operating as a sewing machine mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of industrial and domestic sewing machines, and fashion related equipment. You will work closely with students and teaching staff to ensure all machines are in optimal working condition for classes, projects, and assignments. You will also play a key role in machine health and safety.
The salary for this Grade 6 position is pro-rated to £18,303 - £20,329 for 21 hours per week, based on a full-time salary range of £30,505 to £33,882. The 21 hours are expected to be worked from Wednesday to Friday. This is a 3-month fixed-term contract with the potential for extension, although extension cannot be guaranteed at this stage.
