We have an exciting opportunity for the position of EAP Lecturer – IFP and PMP to be part of our team at ECA UK in London at the London Metropolitan University Holloway Road campus. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality provision to students on PMP/IFP programmes and contribute to their success on these programmes, teaching for up to 21 hours per week (including tutorial time)
  • Participate in student induction activities
  • Prepare for teaching sessions by reviewing the syllabus, reading teachers’ notes and learning materials and liasing with the EAP Lead about weekly teaching duties.
  • Familiarise yourself with the teaching materials and ensure that you are prepared to meet the learning objectives for each session during prep time
  • Prepare any necessary supplementary materials or activities during the allocated prep time.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the EAP lead.
  • Complete all assessment marking (including second marking as per the arrangements made by your EAP Lead) in line with the Assessment Marking Guidelines.
  • Ensure that student attendance and engagement records are accurate
  • Communicate any student concerns and identify at-risk students to the EAP Lead weekly
  • Participate in staff and peer observations
  • Participate in standardisation meetings and CPD activities organized within the team and the wider University
  • Flexibility to deliver sessions online when the need arises
  • Adaptability to deliver cover sessions across PMP and IFP when the need arises. If another member of staff is covering your session, they should be provided with all necessary materials and background information
  • Work collaboratively to contribute to the success of the team and ensure positive outcomes for students

As the successful candidate you will ideally have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or other equivalent qualification
  • DELTA or equivalent teaching qualification (if degree is not education focused)
  • Relevant experience of EAP teaching (in an HE context)
  • C2 level of English language proficiency
  • Ability to work effectively in both a collaborative and independent manner
  • Strong digital literacy skills

  Desirable:

  • Advance HE fellowship/associate fellowship (or equivalent accreditation)
  • Master’s degree in an appropriate subject area
  • Relevant experience
