Are you an enthusiastic and dynamic project manager, fascinated by cutting edge research in science and technology?
Do you thrive by managing cross-disciplinary teams to deliver world-leading research in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Creative Technology and Personalised Media?
We are looking for a project manager to plan, co-ordinate and drive research activities across two of our flagship research programmes led by the Centre for Vision Speech and Signal Processing (CVSSP) and the Surrey Institute for People-Centred AI at the University of Surrey. These programmes are funded by the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)
This full-time role balances responsibilities across both research programmes (50:50). As a key team member, the Research Programme Manager is responsible for the planning, preparation, execution, communication and reporting of the two research programmes. The successful applicant should have a proactive and engaging attitude driven by enthusiasm for AI and creative technology, along with strong communication skills. Excellent project management experience, organisational and administrative skill are essential. Experience working in multi-disciplinary research teams and across organisations will be advantageous.
The role is part of the wider team supporting the activities of the Surrey Institute for People-Centred AI (PAI). Applicants should relish the opportunity and challenge of contributing to the success of these two UK flagship R&D programmes for the Creative Industries working with world-leading higher education institutions and industry partners.
PAI builds on 40 years of expertise leading foundational advances in AI and pioneering ground-breaking technologies for the creative industries, healthcare and communication through CVSSP (ranked 1st in the UK for computer vision research and 3rd for AI and robotics).
We embrace flexible working arrangements, with an expectation of on-site presence at the University of Surrey for at least 50% of the working week (alongside collaboration with our partner organisations as required). Informal enquiries are welcome. Please contact either Prof. Adrian Hilton A.Hilton@surrey.ac.uk or Elizabeth James e.james@surrey.ac.uk
We acknowledge, understand and embrace diversity.
