Full time starting salary is normally in the range £46,485 to £55,295, with potential progression once in post to £62,098 

The University of Birmingham is seeking a Research Environment & Culture Manager to join the Research Strategy & Services Division (RSSD). This pivotal role will turn strategic priorities into measurable outcomes, supporting our researchers, postgraduate researchers (PGRs), and Professional Services colleagues to thrive.

You’ll lead high-impact projects, including:

  • Redeveloping the Research Leaders Programme to provide researchers with the tools and skills to succeed.
  • Delivering activities to support the REF People, Culture & Environment agenda.
  • Partnering with the Doctoral School to enhance the postgraduate researcher experience.
  • Coordinating practical initiatives to foster collaboration and share best practices across the University.

With two direct reports, you’ll also oversee the creation of resources and narratives that showcase our achievements and champion equality, diversity, and inclusion.

We’re looking for an experienced project manager with exceptional organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering results. An understanding of the UK research landscape and experience managing teams is essential.
