The University of Winchester is seeking a part-time (minimum of 3 days a week) Director of Finance & Planning to join us as we continue to deliver on our recently launched Strategic Plan.
Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, and leading a team of experienced professionals, the Director will be responsible for ensuring that we operate within our means, including driving strategic growth opportunities.
This is a broad role, touching all areas of finance, in an organisation with approx. 800 employees and an annual turnover of £84m. Key accountabilities include leading the finance team, ensuring the effective management and investment of the University’s financial resources (including ownership of the annual integrated planning process), ensuring all statutory reporting requirements are met, and providing professional advice and guidance to the Board of Governors and wider University leadership team.
As our ideal candidate, you will be educated to at least degree level and be a member of a recognised accounting professional body. You will have a track record in financial management and accounting, and proven leadership skills, including the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues across the University. Your strategic thinking and attention to detail will help to drive the long-term financial sustainability of our institution.
In return we can offer you a distinct employment proposition – a part-time opportunity at Director level, coupled with an organisation that is small enough to be personal, yet big enough to offer complex challenge and growth.
As an employee at the University of Winchester, we are committed to your wellbeing and development. You will have access to a wide range of benefits and support including:
