About the Role
The Department of English, within the School of the Arts is looking to expand by appointing a Lecturer in English.
Duties will include convening and teaching undergraduate modules, contributing to MA provision as appropriate, and undertaking administrative roles as required within the Department. We are looking for someone with expertise in contemporary and/or global and postcolonial literature to contribute to our survey modules including ESH295 London Walking the City and ESH124 Poetry. ESH295 will be delivered in July/August (as a summer school) and in-semester over the 2025-26 academic year. An ability to teach Creative Writing is desirable.
This is a fixed-term role from 01 June 2025 until 30 April 2026 available as a Leverhulme-funded replacement post.
About You
You will hold a PhD in English or have an equivalent professional qualification, together with the ability to deliver teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The ability to work constructively and flexibly with colleagues, good organisational and communicative skills are also essential.
