We are a large and diverse department employing approximately 1200 people and provide a wide range of services across our U.K sites.
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Operations Manager to manage the day to day planned and reactive maintenance of key maintenance services across our University Sites.
Working closely with the Campus Services Manager you will lead and manage the maintenance team allocating resources effectively to ensure works are completed in line with service level agreements and within the allocated budget. You will provide reports to Senior Estates Managers identifying areas for efficiencies and improvements and will develop the maintenance team promoting a ‘can-do’ attitude and positive culture within the section. You will also liaise with and provide specialist advice to customers and internal and external stakeholders building effective working relationships, understanding customer requirements, and ensuring any feedback received is monitored and actioned as required.
Candidates should be qualified to HNC/D in a Building Services Engineering or a Building/Surveying discipline or equivalent in a relevant subject and have continued post qualification training with experience in a similar role or have a proven track record of extensive relevant work experience in a similar role demonstrating practical and theoretical knowledge of a specialised field of work. You should also have experience in leading, motivating and supervising a team of multi-skilled trades staff undertaking maintenance activities in a large multi-site organisation. Due to the frequency with which the role holder will travel between university sites a full, current driving licence is essential for the post.

The post is offered on a permanent contract. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week) 5 days out of 7 to be arranged mainly Monday to Friday with flexibility to work occasional weekends if required. Job share arrangements may be considered.
