Our Doctoral College is key to the University’s aims of supporting and developing the next generation of academic, industrial and societal leaders. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic administrator to support our Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and Ministry of Defence (MOD) funded Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Complex Integrated Systems in Defence and Security (CISDnS.
The Centre is focused on training future leaders, researchers and technologists to address the sector’s significant skills shortage in doctoral, research and innovation leadership level. The Centre works across disciplines to meet complex national defence and security challenges through direct engagement with government and in collaboration with industrial partners. Our research spans digital, physical and biological systems.
The role will work closely with the CDT Manager, CDT Director and programme team to support the delivery of an excellent student experience. The successful applicant will be motivated, enthusiastic and a proactive team player with excellent communication and IT skills, who is culturally sensitive and is able to work effectively in a flexible and responsive environment.
The post is fixed term, for a duration of 2 years in the first instance.
Due to the nature of the funding of this role, there is an additional security requirement from the MOD requiring all staff to undergo enhanced Baseline Personnel Security Standards checks (BPSS) due to the sensitive nature of the projects and partners involved.
