About the Role
We are looking for a Learning Technologist to join us to support an exciting phase of development of our digital services. Student Opportunity offers students a broad range of rich co-curricular development opportunities.
Through an extensive offer of digital and in-person services, including events, workshops, one-to-one appointments, bursary support, volunteering and internships, we help students develop a global perspective, become culturally aware, and have confidence in achieving their personal vision of career success.
As a member of the Student Opportunity IT team, you will play a key role in developing our digital strategy and resources, including working with colleagues across the division and the wider University to review our online services, establish a strategy for our future direction and support the development of creative and engaging learning content.
This is both a strategic and hands-on content creation role, working within the University’s guidelines and suite of platforms, particularly Moodle.
About You
The successful candidate will have significant experience in a similar educational technology development role. They will possess a deep understanding of learning design, including course design, the development of effective online activities and assessment tools, and course evaluation.
This role requires someone who can contribute strategically to the development of digital services while also being hands-on in content creation.
The candidate should have a proven track record in developing and implementing digital strategies and resources.

Interpersonal skills are equally important for this role. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, allowing them to work effectively with multiple stakeholders. They should be able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users and collaborate with colleagues across different divisions and the wider university. The ability to lead and support colleagues through change processes is essential, demonstrating a proven ability to work in partnership with others.
The ideal candidate will be innovative and creative, capable of developing engaging learning content. They should have a strategic mindset, able to establish a vision for the future of digital services. Adaptability and flexibility are key, as the candidate must be able to adjust to changing priorities and technologies. A proactive and self-motivated approach, with a commitment to continuous learning, is essential.
Finally, the candidate should be passionate about supporting students in developing a global perspective and achieving their career goals. They should understand the importance of co-curricular development opportunities and be committed to helping students gain confidence in their personal vision of career success.
