The Opportunity:
We seek a postdoctoral research associate with a strong background in seismology, geodesy or tectonics to investigate the seismotectonics of the Sunda subduction zone, focusing on the Andaman-Nicobar region.You will participate in a NERC funded project ‘People-centered tsunami early warning for the Indian coastlines’, which will improve tsunami disaster resilience along the Indian coastline, some of the most densely populated areas in the world. Your work on the seismotectonics of the Andaman-Nicobar region will shed light on faulting processes as well as lead to improved characterization of tsunamigenic seismic sources. You will work closely with Dr Karen Lythgoe and interact with all project partners.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week; however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns), fixed term (for 18-months), starting as soon as possible.
The salary for this post is UE07 £40,247-£47,874 per annum.
