We have a fully funded Research Assistant/Associate position available in the laboratory of Dr Andrew Davidson as part of a recently awarded Lister Prize.
You will contribute to projects on understanding how cell death contributes to tumourigenesis using Drosophila combined with live-imaging.
As part of this project, the candidate will be working on:
1: Labelling and live-imaging distinct types of tumour cell death within the Drosophila pupal wing.
2: Confocal-based screening of different tumour models to identify divergent patterns of tumour cell death.
3: Exploring the functional consequences of differential tumour cell death for tumourigenesis and response to therapy by combining Drosophila’s genetics with live-imaging.
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow.
This post is full time and has funding for up to 36 months.
Informal enquiries should be directed to Dr Andrew Davidson Andrew.Davidson@glasgow.ac.uk
