The School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (SEEE) and School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering (SMME) in the College of Engineering and Architecture, University College Dublin, Ireland, have a long and distinguished record of contribution and achievement in education and research. The Schools have an international track record of research achievement across major fields across both disciplines, and in the interdisciplinary subject area of Biomedical Engineering (please see our Schools websites at http://www.ucd.ie/eleceng and https://www.ucd.ie/mecheng/).  The Schools are committed to the highest standards of teaching, learning and student development within a research-informed environment.

It is expected that the successful candidate will develop an ambitious personal research programme and profile, while participating fully in the academic activities of the Schools, College and University.  In addition, it is expected that the appointee will have the qualifications and experience to deliver high quality teaching in core subjects in biomedical engineering, contributing to the bachelors and master degrees programmes.

The successful candidate will be expected to build strong links with the UCD College of Health and Agricultural Sciences and with the new Gosset Institute in AI and digital technologies.  Research synergy with existing faculty within the Schools and associated Centres, including the UCD Centre for Biomedical Engineering, is strongly desired.
