DESCRIPTION
You will be working within the Research, Evidence and Knowledge division in the Science Group’s Scientific Strategy & Evidence directorate. The division consists of two teams providing support to all of UKHSA: Knowledge & Library Services (KLS) and the Research Support & Governance Office (RSGO). The Science Evidence Review team is part of KLS.
The Science Evidence Review team’s main responsibility is to support the use of evidence within UKHSA’s Science group by producing evidence synthesis products such as rapid reviews and evidence gap maps to inform policy and guidance. We also contribute to building capacity for evidence synthesis across UKHSA by providing methodological expertise, delivering training, and supporting others in conducting rapid reviews.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Evidence Reviewer your core role will be to support the use of evidence to inform public health policy and guidance within UKHSA. You will work on rapid evidence reviews using systematic and rapid review methodologies, involving screening of studies, data extraction, critical appraisal and evidence synthesis.
You will work within a review team, using software such as Endnote, Rayyan, EPPI-Reviewer and Microsoft Teams, across a range of review topics and timeframes for completing reviews will vary from several days to several months.
You will also work on the development of processes and tools required to conduct rapid reviews, including methodological development (such as critical appraisal tools) and technological development (such as use of artificial intelligence to support the review process).
You will work matrix style with internal colleagues, both nationally and locally, and may work with external partners. You will also support others wishing to produce or commission evidence reviews, and may support the delivery of training and capacity building.
