We are now seeking an accomplished clinician and academic leader to take up post as Vice President for Medicine and Dean of the School of Medicine. With a seat on the University’s Management Council and as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the University Medical Centre (a cluster of three fully integrated medical centers in Astana), this role is pivotal in driving our mission to develop an internationally respected integrated healthcare system and achieve global recognition for our medical school.
The Role: the Vice President for Medicine and Dean, School of Medicine will lead the advancement of our School of Medicine to become an internationally significant medical school, respected for its teaching, research and quality of graduates. He/she will also oversee the development and expansion of our academic medical center (UMC) with its medical centers in Astana and Shymkent, as models of internationally respected integrated healthcare system and catalysts for healthcare reforms in Kazakhstan and the region.
The Ideal Candidate: the ideal candidate will be an accomplished clinician and academic leader, able to succeed in an environment that is as rewarding as it is challenging. Able to command the respect of fellow clinical professionals and healthcare policymakers and administrators, s/he will be a world-class academic leader, with internationally recognized research and a substantial track record of experience of relevant academic leadership, ideally as dean or sub-dean, in a research intensive university.
