Our IT function is part of the Operations Team which has all the professional services to support our scientists (including IT, Finance, HR, Grants, Business Development, Project Management, Facilities and Procurement) and offers a friendly and supportive environment. We are currently looking for an individual who has some IT support experience to join and develop as an onsite IT Technician, within a small team including another Technician and Head of IT.
You will be working onsite along with another Technician to ensure that support tickets are managed effectively and responded to in a timely manner, either by completing these requests or raising them with the DI Service Desk (part of Harwell site managed by STFC) or the Head of IT where necessary. The Franklin is a great place to grow professionally, so this role would be a perfect opportunity for an individual to further develop their skills as an IT Technician. You will be involved in project work assigned by the Head of IT to ensure you can develop your knowledge and skills.
As this is a supporting role for the Franklin building and visitors, there is a requirement to be on site five days per week, with flexibility for occasional home working.
