We are currently seeking to recruit a post-doctoral Research Associate to join our team.
The opening in our group is funded by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR: USA). It would suit bright, creative, enthusiastic, aspiring researchers willing to think carefully, creatively, and collaboratively (with the Principal Investigator) about their work in this project on human neuroscience.
Our group examines the offline processing of human memory. We integrate a variety of cutting-edge techniques including behavioural analysis, functional imaging, and brain stimulation. Together, these are used to provide a picture of the unique processing that occurs to memories offline following their formation (including the breakdown in segregation across memory systems, and generalization).
Applicants should have a PhD in neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, mathematics, computer science or another relevant discipline, with a strong analytical background. Ideally, applicants will have direct experience using a programming language (MATLAB/Python/R) as a tool for the conduct and analysis of experiments. Experience with either human neuroimaging (including EEG or MEG) or particularly brain stimulation techniques would be an advantage. Any applicant will have enthusiasm, and a clear, demonstrable capacity for acquiring expertise in these techniques.
The group provides a superb training environment. With many using it as a foundation to secure independent fellowships, and faculty positions. The laboratory is housed within the Institute of Neuroscience & Psychology (INP), which is home to several Wellcome Trust Investigators, and national academy members (Royal Society, Edinburgh).
Informal enquiries should be directed to Professor Edwin Robertson Edwin.Robertson@glasgow.ac.uk
This post is full-time and is funded for at least one year with funding available for extension to three years.
