King’s Language Centre (LC) has an exciting development opportunity available to join the programme administration team as a Programmes Officer.
Part of the Centre for International Education & Languages (CIEL), the LC provides language tuition to King’s students via assessed language modules and postgraduate-only modules, external facing short courses and evening programmes open to the public, and language tuition for prestigious external institutions and organisations.
About the role
LC’s programme administration team ensures consistent management and delivery of our wide range of language programmes through high quality administrative support. Our Programmes Officers are responsible for providing a professional, supportive, responsive & personable service incorporating front-line support as the first point of contact for students and academic staff. Supporting processes across the whole academic cycle, ensuring accurate and timely record management across multiple systems is also a key part of the role, with particular focus on:
- Timetabling, enrolment & assessment.
- Support for content on electronic platforms.
- Student Support
- Course evaluation & analysis
- Cross collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (Academic staff, central teams & external partners)
This is a full-time post, 35 Hours per-week and you will be offered an indefinite contract
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to draft documents and correspondence
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Strong numeracy skills and ability to analyze complex numerical data
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (especially Excel) and the ability to work on new systems
- Methodical, detail oriented and flexible in approach to work, maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders in a professional and assured manner
- Proactive with the ability to work independently as well as delivering within a team
- Curious, customer service oriented, with a commitment to personal accountability and continuous improvement
- Comfortable with adapting to change, driving own professional development
- Commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace
Desirable criteria
- Experience of using virtual learning environments
