An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Neuroscience Theme of the Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit (CCTU) as a Clinical Trials Coordinator. This post is to coordinate clinical trials/studies in dementia and neurodegenerative brain diseases such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease, as well as head injury, multiple sclerosis and autoimmune psychosis.
There are additional opportunities to contribute to our developing equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and/or patient and public involvement/engagement work.
Key job functions
To facilitate and coordinate the set-up and conduct of clinical trials and/or clinical studies working closely with the Chief Investigators and their teams, with guidance from senior staff within the neuroscience theme.
To assist with the set-up of participating sites in multi-centre trials and ensuring that all data and samples are collected following relevant protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
To work in compliance with the International Conference on Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (ICH-GCP), the NHS Research Governance Framework for Health & Social Care and, in the case of a CTIMP, in compliance with the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations 2004.
The post-holder will need excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, together with research experience and ideally skills in coordinating clinical trials.
