We have an exciting opportunity for an Inclusive Learning Mentor to join our exciting Care and Early Years department,
The role of Inclusive Learning Mentor offers you the opportunity to provide in-class and wrap-around intervention for learners with SEND and High Needs enrolled in vocational programmes. By enabling rapid progress in both vocational studies and broader Preparing for Adulthood Outcomes, you will be instrumental in supporting students to succeed in achieving their learning aspirations.
About the role
Being an Inclusive Learning Mentor involves developing positive and constructive relationships with students, enhancing their academic, personal, and social education to enable full participation in all College activities. With a personalised approach to teaching and learning, you will provide outstanding student experiences and specific Social, Emotional, and Mental Health support for young people who have experienced trauma or challenge.
You will work with students individually and in groups to mitigate learning barriers, prepare and deliver activities for their development, and support them in both formal learning environments and informal social situations. Collaborating closely with Personal Tutors, you will help students develop transferable skills such as good attendance, independent learning, and ambitious career planning, mentoring them through challenging situations to foster inclusion and success.
