About the Role
Leeds Sixth Form College is looking for an A Level Lecturer - Fine Art and Textiles - Part time.
We welcome applications from newly qualified teachers.
This role consists of teaching A level Fine Art, A Level Textiles to students and introducing them to a wide range of art and textile influences, approaches and mediums. You will also be required to undertake teaching on Art Craft and Design AS Level

Leeds Sixth Form College is a combined provision of A Levels and vocational courses which provides a diverse range of full-time education programmes for learners aged 16-18 and adult learners aged 19+. The provision ranges from Level 2 to Level 3 and includes both traditional academic and vocational pathways.
What You Will Do
This role involves designing and delivering innovative and engaging ACD, Fine Art and Textiles classes to both 16-18 and adult learners of varying ability.
You will introduce students to a wide range of fine art and textiles artists, influences, approaches and mediums.
Shared responsibility for retention, achievement, value added and attendance rates for identified cohorts.
Shared responsibility for developing new units, modules and courses in line with government policy, awarding organisation developments and student demand as well as local community, economic and employer requirements.
You will teach in a range of practical art and design techniques, with a strong emphasis on developing students' creative and critical thinking skills through practical experimentation and exploration.
About You
Hold a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE)
You will have experience and skills in a diverse range of of traditional and contemporary fine art and textile techniques including but not limited to: drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, textiles (such as weaving, knitting, dyeing, embroidery, screen printing, fabric manipulation, and surface pattern design), with a strong understanding of art history and critical theory.
You will be able to deliver teaching in an engaging manner whilst building rapport with your students.
English and Maths at Level 2 or above and a willingness to improve in one or both disciplines to level 3 or above.
Experience of delivering Fine Art and Textiles A-level in an FE setting.
You will have experience of setting targets for students and have strategies and the skills to help students achieve their potential.
