The Role
Senate House Library is the central library for the University of London, and the home library for the School of Advanced Study. We offer access and research support to collections covering Arts, Humanities and Social Science and are home to a number of unique and distinctive Special Collections in the heart of London’s student and research community.
Senate House Library is seeking to recruit to fill the role of "Collection Management Officer (Depository)". The role is based at our off-site store, the Depository Library, in Egham, Surrey.
The role is to work as part of the Space & Collection Management Team, undertaking activities for the ongoing management of Library space and printed collections. This will involve the physical assessment, processing and movement of library collections as well as the creation or amendment of a range of electronic records on the Library Management System.
Due to the nature of the work, although there may be some limited scope for remote working, the standard requirement will be for the post-holder to be working onsite at the Depository.
The successful applicant will need to work well as part of a small team and will require a methodical approach to work with excellent attention to detail as well as the ability to acquire, retain and utilise extensive knowledge of collections and systems.
