About the role
Join our dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional support to students living in our campus halls and regional placement locations. As the Residence Operations Co-ordinator, you’ll lead a team of six student-facing staff, overseeing welfare, disputes, maintenance, and more, while ensuring a seamless experience for students throughout the year. For serious or formal issues, you will be required to follow established University processes and provide appropriate written responses both to students or senior colleagues within the University. The ability to self organise and handle changing priorities will be key as well as coaching your team to develop similar skills where appropriate.
You’ll play a key role in managing the entire student accommodation cycle, from recruitment to departure, collaborating with the Accommodation Provider (UPP) to meet the UK Code for Student Accommodation standards and regularly monitoring key aspects of delivery such as maintenance and customer service. You'll coordinate the annual Student Arrivals event, working with external partners to ensure everything runs smoothly for students and families during a time of excitement with some mixed emotions.
Working closely with Student Services, Mental Health, and Disability Services, you'll support students through complex cases, prioritising wellbeing and ensuring appropriate information sharing. Flexibility and resliance is key, as you may face urgent, emotionally challenging situations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for student success, and an understanding of the challenges in Higher Education. Degree-level education or equivalent experience is essential, student accommodation knowledge is preferred.
Based in Plymouth with occasional regional travel, this role will include some weekend working for key University events such as Open Days, Clearing and Arrivals approximately 8 times per year. Join us and make a difference in student accommodation.
There is an essential requirement within this role that you will be required to travel to and work at different University sites and/or other business locations that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Please refer to the job description for further information.
