We are looking to appoint a Senior Research Associate for a primary role of neuroimaging analysis on a well-funded project (the SIGHT trial) investigating brain imaging markers of spatial neglect post-stroke.

SIGHT is an ongoing multi-site stroke trial led by Dr. Stéphanie Rossit funded by MRC-NIHR EME programme. SIGHT is directed at spatial neglect, one of the most disabling and 'hidden' cognitive syndromes post-stroke, broadly defined as an inability to attend to the side most affected by the stroke with varying sub-types. This ground-breaking neuroimaging study will add significantly to our understanding of neglect recovery and of the profiles of patients that benefit most from rehabilitation.

You will be based within Dr. Rossit’s research laboratory (Neurolab: https://www.stephanierossit.com/) in the School of Psychology. You will join the team of leading stroke researchers and clinicians in the SIGHT trial, work alongside an MRI physicist who will set-up the MRI sequences in the different hospitals, and receive support from the Norwich Clinical Trials Unit. The SIGHT neuroimaging study involves close collaboration with Prof. Hugh Markus (University of Cambridge) and Dr. Davinia Fernández-Espejo (University of Birmingham) with funded opportunities to spend time in those labs for training. Participating NHS sites will collect all the data and analysis will be performed at UEA.

You will have a PhD in a relevant area (e.g. Psychology, Neuroscience or Neuroimaging) and have significant experience of independent research and analysis of human neuroimaging datasets (such as fMRI and/or DTI). You will be able to meet all essential criteria detailed in the candidate brochure.

This full-time post is available from 1 April 2025 on a fixed-term basis for 32 months.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Vulnerable Adult Barred List.
