Lecturer in Real Estate

Locations: Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment (On-site)

The full-time starting salary is normally £42,860.00 per annum, with progression available in post to £46,586.00 per annum.

We invite applications to join our integrated teaching and research teams at Birmingham City University’s College of the Built Environment at Lecturer level. Located in a modern £300M campus in the heart of Birmingham City Centre, the College is a thriving, vibrant, and inspiring learning community committed to excellence in research, high quality teaching, and industrial engagement. Building on continuous success in student growth and in sustained advancement of research activities, the College has embarked on a programme of extensive expansion funded by substantial long-term investment.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Property Marketing
  • Introduction to Valuation
  • Residential Portfolios 
  • Advanced Valuation Methods
  • Property Asset Management
  • Property Fund management
  • Property Marketing

You will be able to assist in supervision of student projects at undergraduate and postgraduate level, providing an excellent student experience whilst using appropriate learning, teaching and support assessment methods. You will contribute the design and development of high quality, up-to-date courses in Real Estate and related disciplines. 

You will have a PhD in Real Estate or in an Urban Development area, or equivalent industrial experience (typically demonstrated by Chartered status), and have high-level knowledge, skill, and expertise in Real Estate Technology. You will have the ability to teach core Real Estate topics at undergraduate and PGT level, and possess excellent presentation and teaching skills. 

For this role we will consider applicants both with an industry and a research background. Chartered status with a Real Estate-related professional body, industry experience as a UK-based Real Estate consultant or contractor, and higher education teaching experience would be desirable.
