The full-time starting salary is normally £27,991.00 per annum, with progression available in post to £30,425.00 per annum.
We invite applications to join our integrated teaching and research teams at Birmingham City University’s College of the Built Environment at Lecturer level. Located in a modern £300M campus in the heart of Birmingham City Centre, the College is a thriving, vibrant, and inspiring learning community committed to excellence in research, high quality teaching, and industrial engagement. Building on continuous success in student growth and in sustained advancement of research activities, the College has embarked on a programme of extensive expansion funded by substantial long-term investment.
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in at least one of the following areas:
You will be able to assist in supervision of student projects at undergraduate and postgraduate level, providing an excellent student experience whilst using appropriate learning, teaching and support assessment methods. You will contribute to the design and development of high quality, up-to-date courses in Civil Engineering and related disciplines.
You will have a BSc/BEng in a Civil Engineering related topic or equivalent industrial experience, and have high-level knowledge, skill, and expertise in Civil Engineering. You will have the ability to support laboratory practical sessions in core civil engineering topics at undergraduate level. For this role we will consider applicants both with an industry and a research background. MSc in a Civil Engineering topic, industry experience with a UK based Civil Engineering consultant or contractor and higher education teaching experience would be desirable.
