Background
The Centre for Food Policy at City St George’s, University of London, is a leading interdisciplinary research centre focused on redesigning effective food systems. The Research Fellow will contribute to the NIHR-funded research study title ‘ENTHUSE – EvaluatiNg The High fat sUgar Salt rEgulations’ led by Professor Christina Vogel, who is also Director at the Centre for Food Policy. The postholder will work closely with colleagues within the Centre and at the Universities of Southampton and Oxford.
Responsibilities
The role will require working on both qualitative and quantitative research activities, supporting ethnographic approaches and producing project outputs The role will also involve liaising with co-investigators on the research project, our diverse panel of public contributors and policy makers at local authorities, DHSC or other government departments. The post holder will be required to liaise with and provide support as needed to the research project and, where necessary, the broader work of the Centre for Food Policy.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will have completed a PhD in a relevant field, have a passion to improve food systems and address dietary inequalities, and is familiar with UK food policy. They should possess excellent writing and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and collaboratively, and have flexibility for fieldwork. A commitment to continuous professional development is essential and experience of managing or supporting others staff is desirable. Researchers from a range of backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The selection process will involve a 5-minute presentation on a pre-set topic and a 25-minute interview.

Interviews will be held online using Microsoft Teams.
