The opportunity 

University of the Arts London (UAL) is looking for a Specialist Technician: Digital Projects to play a pivotal role in enhancing digital learning experiences across London College of Communication.

You will be responsible for the development, support, and continuous improvement of Moodle and other digital platforms to meet academic, technical, and user needs. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will implement innovative solutions that improve user engagement and learning outcomes.

This role involves working on multiple digital projects, gathering data-driven insights, and collaborating with technical staff to create intuitive user journeys. You will also provide hands-on training, troubleshooting, and user support to foster a seamless digital learning environment.

About you

We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled individual with extensive experience in developing, implementing, and supporting Moodle and other digital learning platforms within an educational setting. You will possess strong knowledge of web technologies, accessibility standards (WCAG), along with proficiency in productivity and design tools such as Bootstrap and Adobe Creative Cloud. A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in digital learning, user experience, or web development is essential.

Strong communication skills are vital, as you will need to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible manner to a diverse audience. You will also demonstrate excellent self-management skills, balancing multiple projects effectively to meet deadlines while delivering continuous service improvement.

Collaboration and teamwork are at the heart of this role, requiring you to work closely with technical, academic and administrative colleagues, promoting an inclusive and user-focused digital environment. Additionally, creativity and innovation are crucial for identifying opportunities for improvement, driving innovative solutions, and enhancing user experience. A passion for learning new technologies and supporting others in a dynamic environment will ensure your success in this role.
