The Faculty of Economics are looking to hire a post-doctoral candidate. Eligible candidates include those who have recently been awarded a doctoral degree or expect to receive their degree in Economics or Computer Science by September 2025.
Candidates should have expertise in machine learning, in combination with strong skills in statistics, economic theory, and network analysis. Experience in managing large data sets would be helpful.
The successful candidate is expected to engage closely with researchers at the Faculty of Economics.
It is expected that successful candidates' work will be at the cutting edge of the research frontier with a view to future publications in world leading journals. The candidate will also be expected to be an active member of the Economics Faculty.
Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD. Those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD by the start date will be appointed as a Research Assistant (Grade 5, Point 38 £33,882). Upon award of their PhD, the individual will be appointed to Research Associate (Grade 7, Point 41 £36,924).
