The Department of Computer Science at Loughborough University is seeking to appoint a Research Associate (SSA Grade 6) or Research Assistant (SSA Grade 5) to work on an Innovate UK funded project on the Internet of Digital Twin Things (IoDT^2). The IoDT^2 project aims to research and develop a novel digital twin framework. This framework will allow for the easy sharing of models and data across networks, and computation resources can dynamically be formed to execute simulations.
The successful candidate will collaborate with Dr. Posco Tso, his team, and industry partners to develop a novel distributed digital twin framework. They will have skills in distributed artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and digital twin, and strong knowledge in computer networking. They will also have experience in publishing in competitive venues. The position is currently funded for 23 months for Research Associate or 24 months for Research Assistant, with possibility of extension up to 14 months.
The Research Associate will be based in the internationally renowned Department of Computer Science at Loughborough University, UK. Founded in 1974, the Department of Computer Science is one of the most well-established university computing departments in the UK with a long track record of developing skilled and highly employable graduates, as well as a reputation for cutting edge research and industry engagement. In the REF 2021, the department ranked in position 32 out of 90 UK universities, and 91% of Loughborough's research was classed as world-leading or internationally excellent.
