The Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnologies (CEB) is seeking to appoint two Lecturers in Chemical Engineering. CEB is internationally recognised for its world-class research, the high quality of its graduates, and its strong track record of graduate employability. Our department fosters a close relationship between chemical engineering and chemistry in both teaching and research. We are proud to have our undergraduate programmes ranked 3rd in the UK for Chemical Engineering (Guardian University Guide 2024).

Our principal research areas include Polymers, Advanced Materials, Catalysis, Bioenergy, and Bioproducts. These areas are supported by two EPS Research Institutes: the Aston Institute for Membrane Excellence (AIME) and the Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute (EBRI). AIME conducts cutting-edge multidisciplinary research in computational membrane science, membrane structural determination, and sustainable polymers. EBRI, based in state-of-the-art facilities on campus, focuses on biomass, bioenergy, biotechnology, and catalysis research, driving innovation towards a sustainable future.
