We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Officer to join our team at Birmingham Newman University. As a key member of the Quality Assurance team, you will play an essential role in ensuring the highest standards of academic quality across our programmes. You will work closely with faculty, staff, and external bodies to oversee the implementation and monitoring of quality assurance processes, ensuring that teaching, learning, and assessment activities align with university and regulatory standards. The Quality Officer will be responsible for managing and coordinating the quality assurance procedures across academic programs, ensuring compliance with internal and external quality frameworks. You will support program validation and review processes, assist with audits, and provide guidance to academic departments on quality matters. This is a full-time, permanent position located on campus at Birmingham Newman. The role will involve regular collaboration with academic and administrative staff, as well as external quality bodies and accreditation agencies.
Education: A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Quality Management, or a related discipline).
Experience: Proven experience in a quality assurance role within a higher education or similar environment.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of academic quality assurance processes, program validation, and regulatory requirements in higher education.
Skills: Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Proficiency in report writing and the use of relevant software tools.
Personal Qualities: Attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
