About the role: The Bedford College Group are currently seeking an Industry Placement Assessor in Early Years and Healthcare at our Kettering CampusNorthamptonshire

As an Industry Placement Assessor in Early Years and Healthcare, you will play a key role in the success of our students through:

  • Implementing The Bedford College Group Work Experience policy
  • Sourcing and ensuring high quality industry placement provision for students within the Health, Care and Early Years Department.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive and effective relationships with industry providers, employers and stakeholders.
  • Supporting curriculum with establishing and presenting Employer Advisory Boards.
  • Working collaboratively with the Business Development and the Careers teams to ensure the careers plan is delivered with positive outcomes.
  • Working with the curriculum to ensure that work/industry placement dates, duration, employer and contacts are logged centrally on Grofar.
  • Organising and effectively plan visits to employers (placement settings) for observation and assessment purposes for all students as required.
  • Contacting and liaising with employers to ensure mutually suitable dates and times for observations, that are adhered to.
  • Liaising with awarding body moderators when appropriate to ensure mutually suitable dates and times for observations, that are adhered to.
  • Collaborating with Centre Managers and Interval Verifiers, fully informing them of planned observation visits, outcomes of observations and communication and planned visits with awarding body moderators and any concerns.
  • Supporting and guide students to achieve success and realise their full potential in their placement and placement assessments.
  • Supporting and guide students in placement settings and in timetables class session as required or appropriate.
  • Providing written and detailed observation evidence in accordance with college policy and awarding body requirements.
  • Maintaining completion of all duties in a timely manner and manage own schedule to be time efficient and effective.
  • Contributing pro-actively to developments in innovative observation, assessment processes and best practice industry work placement tasks.

About you:

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Level 3/4 relevant qualification in Early Years or equivalent
  • Assessors’ qualification or willingness to work towards
  • Relevant qualification for the subject applying to teach
  • English and mathematics or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent Industry experience of subject sector applying to teach
  • Experience of meeting deadlines
  • Experience of monitoring and recording data and taking appropriate actions
  • Keeping up to date with developments in subject specialism and sharing expertise with colleagues
  • Evidence of high performance in previous roles/jobs
  • Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Evidence of understanding how to promote equality and diversity within the job role
  • Ability to effectively research, develop and implement new learning materials to engage students in learning
  • Ability to extend students learning experience by developing and implementing appropriate vocational opportunities.
  • Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and for raising any concerns
  • Willingness to travel to and work at all locations where we provide a service
