The Courtauld Institute of Art is the UK’s leading institution for teaching and research into the History of Art and the conservation of paintings, and is also home to one of the finest small art museums in the world.  The Courtauld is currently undergoing a capital transformation project that will make The Courtauld’s world-class artworks, research and teaching accessible to more people – in the UK and internationally.

This role is based in the Student and Academic Services (SAS) directorate reporting to the Deputy Academic Registrar.  The role holder will ensure that an excellent customer focused service is provided to both students and academics and that student satisfaction is maintained at a high level.  The role holder will manage and develop the Programme Administration Team, supporting the student journey and administrative delivery of all The Courtauld’s academic programmes, ensuring a high quality programme administration and professional support service to academic staff and students is delivered.  The role holder will ensure that the programmes are delivered in line with the approved programme documentation and provide colleagues with advice and support on the interpretation of the regulations and adherence to the relevant quality assurance standards.  The role holder will be responsible for the Advice Desk ensuring that this is staffed at all times, staff are fully trained and able to answer all queries accurately from both staff and students.

You will have:

  • Previous work experience in higher education (HE) in a senior programme administration role.
  • Experience of staff management and leading a team of administrators.
  • Knowledge and experience of servicing committees and Boards of Examiners.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with staff, students and members of the public.
  • Excellent IT user, fully conversant with MS Office.
  • Excellent knowledge of student record systems (SITS) and Moodle Virtual Learning Environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and able to work effectively and accurately under pressure to tight deadlines.
