Principal Systems Business Analyst (Curriculum Management)

We are looking for a Principal Systems Business Analyst (Curriculum Management) to join us on a Full-time, Fixed-term basis, working 37 hours per week until the 31st July 2025.   

THE ROLE

This role will form part of a cross department project team supporting the implementation of a new curriculum management system for the university, and will be based in our Information Systems team. The aim will be to create a ‘single source of truth’ for Curriculum data, and to ensure data flows out to the student record system, the website, and other related IT systems in a coherent manner, with a focus on automating processes and linking data end to end.

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Good general level of general education
  • Experience of Business Analysis in a medium to large complex environment
  • Evidence of stakeholder engagement to capture requirements
  • Experience of producing requirement and design specifications to deliver to a development team and responding to queries through the development stage
  • Experience of seeing software development through to testing and sign off
  • Demonstrate experience of software development lifecycles
  • Working knowledge of SQL and databases sufficient to interrogate databases
  • Experience in providing high quality software systems support
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and ability to work unsupervised
  • Demonstrate respect for a diverse range of people and recognize the importance of building sound relationships.
  • Able to work as part of a team and in partnership with others
  • Recognize the need for and demonstrate appropriate confidentiality with specific reference to GDPR
  • Have a positive approach to personal learning and development
  • Able and prepared to work flexibly including travel between campuses and locations when required
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK 

It would also be beneficial if you have:

  • Degree in computer related discipline
  • Accreditation in specific technology or Business Analysis processing
  • Knowledge of other programming languages
  • Experience of Agile Scrum development and workload environment
  • Experience of working in a University
  • Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh
