Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy
Two full-time ARIA funded posts are available, on a fixed term basis, from 27/1/2025 for 15 months in the Faculty.
The post
The Faculty wishes to recruit two Postdoctoral Research Associates to support the work of Dr Dawei Qiu and Prof. Zhong Fan. The successful applicants will conduct cutting edge research on developing safe and scalable AI decision support tools for energy systems.
The post will carry out research in the application of advanced AI technologies to energy systems and publish in top energy and AI conferences / journals. He/she will also develop open-source simulation and decision-making tools based on their research.
About you
The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants should have strong background in energy system modelling, optimisation, with good knowledge of modern AI techniques.
