We are looking for a Research Fellow in Epidemiology to work within the Beyond Cancer group, part of the wider Electronics Health Records team in the Department of Non-Communicable Disease Epidemiology. The Beyond Cancer research group aims to understand the impact of the cancer diagnosis and treatments on the long-term physical and mental health of the growing numbers of cancer survivors in the population. The post-holder will investigate questions in this field, by carrying out epidemiological studies using large-scale electronic healthcare data resources, with a particular focus on the UK Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD).
Candidates should have a postgraduate degree (ideally a doctoral degree) in Epidemiology or Medical Statistics, and substantial experience in designing and leading applied epidemiology studies using UK primary care-based electronic health records databases. Experience conducting longitudinal data analyses is also essential. Further particulars are included in the job description.
The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed-term until 30 September 2027.
The post is funded by Cancer Research UK and is available from 01 February 2025.
The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale Grade 6 in the range £44,847 – £46,954 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part-time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
