We are looking to appoint an experienced creative technology focussed design lecturer, teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Located in the Architecture and Design subject area, you will be responsible for teaching, curriculum development, research and scholarship. Primarily working with Product Design and Design Engineering students, your role will lead the delivery of a range of practical design skills such as drawing, prototyping, computer aided design (CAD), computer aided manufacturing (CAM), and physical computing, as well as integrating contemporary and future-focussed fabrication methods and practices.
Working collaboratively with the Course Team, the Product Design and Design Engineering Lecturer will help to develop a strong culture of experimentation with technology and contribute to the development and expansion of the university’s technology, making, and fabrication facilities.
The ideal candidate will contribute to, and lead, research and knowledge exchange activities across disciplines within and beyond the school and university. You will also bring specialist and creative expertise in material innovation and sustainable systems, manufacturing, physical and digital fabrication, helping to inform student approaches to design, technology, industry, and sustainability.

In addition, our Lecturers act as personal tutors to provide pastoral care to our students. The role requires listening, interpersonal and pastoral care skills to deal with sensitive issues concerning students, appreciate individual students' needs and circumstances, and refer students as appropriate to the specialist services that can provide further help.
