Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a new Campus Manager to join our new Campus Services centre in partnership with Aston University!

The role will be on a full-time, permanent basis at Aston University University London Hub.

The Campus Manager will lead on Operational and Student Services delivery, working alongside with central Cambridge Education Group (CEG) and Aston University. As part of the Aston University London Hub Leadership team there will be opportunity to present and deliver new initiatives, evolve existing processes, and ensure that student progress is accurately tracked and recorded.

The key objectives of the role are to lead on delivery of student services and operations (such as facilities management, health and safety, timetabling) in the Aston University London Hub to ensure that services are delivered to an excellent standard, and academic and student data is collected and managed to relevant internal and external standards. The Campus Manager will manage administrative systems and resources to ensure compliance with procedures, policies, and requirements of CEG Aston University and any external bodies e.g. the relevant academic authorities and relevant immigration agencies.

This role would be a great fit if you have previous experience in the higher education sector in a similar or related position(s) or relevant experience in another sector, in either case demonstrating development through involvement in a series of progressively demanding work roles.

What you will be doing as a Campus Manager:

  • To lead, manage and contribute to the academic and student service provision, with a view to constantly improving the student experience
  • To oversee the day-to-day operational functions of the LSC, ensuring smooth delivery of services and addressing challenges as they arise
  • To support and deliver enrolment and induction for new and returning students to the highest standards whilst adhering to university partner processes and policy including late enrolment.
  • Being the lead and designated senior staff member for escalation of complex student cases and working closely with wider teams including Operations, Facilities, and other university student support teams.
  • To implement new systems processes in improving the learner journey including but not limited to service levels for all student facing provisions including a triage service to wider Student Engagement, Library and Welfare support.
  • To ensure that systems and procedures are in place for the maintenance of accurate records on all aspects of the delivery and management of Aston University London Hub programmes.
  • To organise and contribute to the administrative induction of new academic staff to the centre, helping to ensure that they are familiar with the Aston University London Hub academic regulations and compliance requirements e.g., Aston University and relevant academic authorities.
  • To be responsible to the Director of University Programmes for the integrity of academic and personal student data.
  • To follow agreed partnership policies and procedures to help maintain continuous quality improvement in student record keeping and student experience.
  • With centre leadership colleagues, to develop and implement systems for the improvement of programme delivery, Centre management and student experience.

Key specifications we will be looking for:

  • Experience in an administrative position.
  • An understanding of Higher Education and the needs and requirements of International Students.
  • Experience of the development and review of information system processes and procedures.
  • Experience of producing routine and bespoke data reports to external deadlines.
  • Experience in the creation and delivery of reports to a senior level.
  • Demonstrate cultural awareness and understanding.
  • A commitment to teamwork and an ability to allocate resources effectively and efficiently, both human and physical.
  • An ability to motivate, coach and develop administrative team members. 
  • Confidence in presenting and manipulating data in Excel.
  • Planning and organisational skills and an ability to take initiative within a customer orientated environment, in line with the relevant policies and procedures.
  • A record of attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, in English and the native language of the centre location.
  • Practical problem-solving under time constraints and the ability to work under strict deadlines.
  • The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • A record of achievement in academic administration.
