About the role
The Brunel Centre is a new economic data, research and knowledge exchange centre for the West of England and wider region, funded by Research England. It is an innovative collaboration between the University of Bath, University of the West of England, Bristol, and Futures West, the new business voice for regional policy.
We are looking to appoint a dynamic individual with a track record of senior leadership and major project delivery to lead the centre. You will be responsible for creating a new Data Hub and Observatory for the economy of the West of England; working with partners and academic researchers to deliver a suite of cutting edge research and consultancy projects; and delivering a programme of events, workshops and knowledge exchange activity, building capacity for regional policymaking, advocacy and strategy development.
You will work with senior stakeholders in regional businesses, public authorities and the further and higher education sectors to ensure that the Brunel Centre provides a critical new resource for sustainable economic growth in the West of England.
The role provides a rare opportunity to work in an area of exciting and relevant policy work in UK government priority areas of devolution and growth policy in a region with outstanding, dynamic high value sectors and with high innovation and technology businesses.
It offers exposure to cutting edge collaboration with the private sector, Local and Mayoral Combined Authorities, and leading economic policy makers and academics. It is open to applicants with outstanding project management, impact and leadership experience, whether gained in the private, public or higher education sectors.
