LAC-TreatMito Centre Coordinator (Fixed Term)**

The University of Cambridge wishes to appoint an enthusiastic research coordinator to join the Cambridge Clinical Mitochondrial Research Group (MitoCAMB) in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences. MitoCAMB is an interdisciplinary team of clinicians, research coordinators and PI's (with affiliated research laboratories), focussed on understanding the genetic basis and mechanisms of mitochondrial diseases, and other rare inherited neurological disorders

The MitoCAMB team is funded by various bodies within the UK, EU and internationally, including the NIHR, Wellcome Trust, and Medical Research Council.  The group was recently awarded a £7.5 million LifeArc Translational Rare Disease Centres Award to lead the establishment of the LifeArc centre for the treatment of mitochondrial diseases (LAC-TreatMito

Over the next 5 years, with our partners at UCL, the University of Newcastle, the Lily Foundation and MDUK, we aim to establish a national platform to translate novel treatment strategies and biomarkers into clinical trials for mitochondrial diseases

The role holder will join at an exciting time in rare disease research.  They will assist the programme manager and PI's with delivering and reporting on key milestones for all projects and grants.  The post-holder will work alongside the programme manager to coordinate key deliverables of the ambitious LifeArc initiative, both within Cambridge and across the UK-wide centre partners.

The role-holder will need to effectively communicate across stakeholders (internal and external), which includes: devising communications strategies, organising meetings/events, assisting with PPIE activity, and regularly reporting to funders and other stakeholders. They will also be involved with the grant lifecycle (ensuring resources are appropriately managed and deployed), and work alongside our friendly and multidisciplinary clinical team to support a range of clinical research studies and trials.
