We are seeking an experienced Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (Teaching and Scholarship) with qualifications and experience in Physiology or related subject to join the team of academic, technical, and professional services staff in the delivery of our world-class Medical Science and Healthcare programmes.
The post is based in the Institute of Education for Healthcare and Medical Sciences (IEHMS) in the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition (SMMSN). The primary role of the post holder will be to take a lead role in the delivery of medical sciences on both the suite of BSc Medical Sciences programmes and the healthcare programmes of the School (MBChB; BDS and Masters in Physician Associate Studies). The post holder will be supported in their role by an experienced and vibrant academic and professional services support team in the IEHMS and wider university. Active participation in educational scholarship is also expected.
Working within the Medical Science and Healthcare teaching teams, the post holder will take a lead role in the overall organisation and delivery of medical science teaching and assessment, student support, teaching initiatives, and teaching administration. Whilst there will be a particular focus on Physiology, the post holder will be expected to support the educational wok of other disciplines and programmes. There are regular opportunities both within the School and University for strategic level lead roles. Leadership and administrative responsibilities will be commensurate with the grade at which this post is appointed, and the experience of the individual.
This post involves a significant amount of face-to-face teaching and assessment on campus so would not be able to be undertaken remotely or in hybrid mode.
Lecturers will be appointed on the appropriate point on the Grade 7 scale, £46,485 - £55,295 per annum, pro rata and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
Senior Lecturers will be appointed on the appropriate point on the Grade 8 scale, £58,596 - £65,814 per annum, pro rata and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
